Downtown Location: 101 Franklin Street Clarksville, TN 37040

Tasting Room Sales Associate

Beachaven Vineyards & Winery is in search of Tasting Room Associates. The right candidate for this position will provide an exceptional experience to guests through his or her wine knowledge, excellent customer service and a sales driven attitude.

Our main winery location consists of our production facility along with our tasting bar, gift shop and outdoor picnic area. Tasting Room Associates will be required to provide guided tastings, tours of our property, pour wine by the glass and wine flights, and be able sell bottles and cases of wine. With that said, it is important that our staff is knowledgeable on our products and the history of our winery, which will be part of their staff training. In addition to customer service, the main winery staff is responsible for signing people up for our wine club, packing shipping orders, pick up orders, prepping for wine club releases, unpacking merchandise, prepping for and working special events.

Different from the main winery location, all wine at the downtown location will be served as a flight, or by the glass or bottle rather than a guided tasting experience. However, the downtown associate is still responsible for serving, educating, and selling bottles of wine by regularly interacting and caring for the customers sitting at the tables. The associate also provides assistance with any special events and completes day to day responsibilities such as cleaning and daily operation prep.

This is a part-time position that requires weekend and weekday availability. Weekends are required.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

• Greet all visitors with enthusiasm.
• Lead and assist guests with their wine selection– educating them about the winery story, products, growing regions, and brand. Ensure a fun, memorable and educational customer experience.
• Work towards developing relationships with guests to convert into returning customers and potential Wine Club members.
• Build long lasting relationships with Beachaven customers and Wine Club members.
• Effectively suggest and sell wine, with the ability to “up-sell.”
• Execute direct sales to customers via phone as needed.
• Support the team to meet and exceed sales goals.

Daily Operations:

• Opening and closing duties, stocking wine and retail products, and assisting with the proper display and pricing of retail items.
• Responsibly pour selected wines for visitors according to tasting room guidelines and procedures in accordance with laws and regulations.
• Develop basic knowledge of the wines and winemaking practices to continually promote and educate guests on the winery and its offerings.
• Handle POS transactions on an integrated cash register and database system.
• Provide all guests with excellent customer service.
• Available to work special events and holidays.
• Clean tasting room, bathroom facilities, wash and polish glassware used in the tasting room.
• Quickly recognize the signs that a guest should not be served alcohol and take appropriate action to professionally address the situation.
• Always maintain a professional and polished appearance.

General Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have or be willing to obtain a Tennessee ABC license
• This position requires that you work the weekends, as well as days, evenings and holidays as scheduled/agreed
• This position requires the ability to lift 40lbs on a regular basis and stand for eight plus hours
• Education: High School Diploma, or equivalent
• Excellent communication and sales skills are essential
• 1-2 years employment in a similar environment such as: retail, restaurant, hospitality or customer service
• Cash handling experience and basic math skills
• Flexibility and ability to manage constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
• Ability to follow company policies and procedures regarding federal and state shipping compliance
